WiseFarmer presented for Serbian farm advisors

In accordance with the "Annual Advisory Plan for Agricultural Advisers and Farmers" for 2020, training for Module 14 - Digitization in Agriculture was held. The training was organized by the Institute for the Application of Science in Agriculture, under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the Republic of Serbia and in cooperation with the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Belgrade.

In accordance with the "Annual Advisory Plan for Agricultural Advisers and Farmers" for 2020, training for Module 14 - Digitization in Agriculture was held. The training was organized by the Institute for the Application of Science in Agriculture, under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the Republic of Serbia and in cooperation with the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Belgrade.

The education was held at the Faculty of Agriculture in Belgrade, on February 25, 2020, for about 300 participants. The trainees are the advisers of the Agricultural Advisory and Expert Service from the whole territory of the Republic of Serbia (PSSS), and the representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the Republic of Serbia, Provincial Secretariat of Agriculture of AP Vojvodina, professors of the Faculty of Agriculture, professors of secondary agricultural schools, representatives Serbian Chamber of Commerce and students of the Faculty of Agriculture, or about 300 experts in the field of agriculture.
The focus of the module, in line with the priorities of the Government of Serbia, was on digitization and precision agriculture as contemporary world trends. The primary objective of the training is to improve the level of knowledge of agricultural advisers in the field of new technologies and to transfer knowledge to producers. In the broader context, education aims to better educate experts in the field of agriculture about the opportunities, uses and benefits of digitalization in various fields of agricultural production.


The training was opened by Dr. Rade Jovanovic, Director of the Institute for the Application of Science in Agriculture, and in the introductory part, Mr. Senad Mahmutovic, State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the Republic of Serbia, addressed the attendees. Prof. Dr. Dušan Živković, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Belgrade, prof. Vladimir Crnojevic, PhD, Director of the BioSens Institute - Information Technology Research and Development Institute, Mr. Mladen Petkovic, Assistant to the Pactine Secretary, Provincial Secretariat for Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry of AP Vojvodina and Mr. Milan Husnjak, President of the SESAN Council - Network of Advisory Services for South East Europe . Before the beginning of the lecture, Dr. Natasa Tolimir, introduced the participants to the system of continuous education of advisors and transfer of knowledge to agricultural producers,
After the introductory lecture on digitalization in agriculture, delivered by prof. Dr. Vladimir Crnojevic, Director of the BioSens Institute, delivered lectures by a team of experts from the Institute, Milos Pandzic, Momir Alvirovic, Dr. Oscar Marko and Dr. Gordan Mimić, on satellite technologies, drones, sensor and other technologies. They gave a special comment on the analysis of the output data of the mentioned devices / technologies, that is, they presented how high-tech concepts lead to concrete recommendations for the farmer, so that they would have a more accurate insight into the production and the ability to optimally manage their farms, ie to increase yields , profit and production sustainability.
